spark plug threads

i was screwing the sparkplugs back in my 55 7.5 evinrude and it would not tighten. I unscrewed it and in the sparkplugs threads were the threads from the cylinder head all broken off. can i re-tap this or will that not work and i need a new cylinder head? thanks

you need to have a heli coil installed into the head. this is a common problem.
