I have a 1990 Evinrude 115. I have cleaned and rebuilt the carburetors using the information in the manual and this forum. The rebuild went real well, I followed the instructions to the letter.
With the carbs back on, I am still seeing a problem. The engine will not idle below 2500 RPM. It seems as if the engine when it runs, is running solely on the fuel supplied by the primer solenoid. I am not sure it is disengaging.
With the engine running, I can flip the red lever on top of the solenoid and the engine will shut down right away.
What would cause this? Could there be some blockage in the fuel lines leading up to the carbs? Have I missed something?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
