Engine sat up for a couple of years. Cleaned out fuel tank, cleaned carburetors and disconnected oil injection. Motor cranked up and ran fine on hose. Put it in the water and ran fine for 30 min. Went to load on trailer and the engine would die upon engaging throttle. After a few attempts it finally took the throttle and loaded up.
Next trip same thing everytime I stopped to fish. Changed plugs yesterday and I can't get it to idle or take the fuel on the hose at home.
Need some help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impeller is on the list. Rather than screw this whole thing up, I think I will take the safe route this time and bring it to a pro. Noticed this morning that one of the new plugs doesn't appear to be firing. Will an automotive timing light work to determine if that cylinder is firing?

check compression and spark, if good, clean and rebuild carbs. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=244013

also suggest and impeller change before you get stranded, with hot motor.

Nobody could take my boat in, all too busy. Took carbs apart again and cleaned. Installed fuel water seperator and replaced the priming bulb on the fuel line. Instant sucsess, idled perfectly on da hose. Dropped it in the water and all problems gone. Trying to go fishin today but the rain may win.
