Well we have had Daisy for almost a year now . . . and she is more than we hoped for . . . We named her Missy for about a day, but Daisy stuck and her most common nickname is simply Girlie . . .
Bear and her are joined at the hip:
And likewise with Mrs QC:
My wife and her are literally inseparable, and I am so relieved as Daisy is really to replace our female Yellow Lab that we had to put down two years ago. If it is possible, these two are closer although I don't think Sandy would admit it . . . Daisy sleeps in our bed every night and cuddles with Sandy anywhere she can find her.
Daisy has the best nose of any dog I have ever been around. We had no idea that her entire existence would revolve around her sense of smell. She literally traces every footstep of Sandy's until she finds her. Doesn't matter where, she locks on and sniffs her out.
And . . . she is everything I hoped for on the boat:
Doesn't matter where or when, if I throttle back to idle speed she runs up and hops on the bow. As soon as I start to plane off she finds a better spot, usually curled up with Mommy on the aft bench seat. She did fall off the bow at about 3 MPH while idling through the London Bridge Channel . . . Of course Mommy jumped in after her
and there was a big panic and I scolded both of them. But it was a good learning experience, and she still takes her spot . . . but maybe doesn't lean quite as far over as she did before . . . Oh, she's a good swimmer too; thank God for that . . .
