65 mph on a bare foot boat in the Sacramento Delta. What a wild ride. I am content at 35-40 mph on a glassy lake.

I had my boat in the signature up to 36 to 37 (nonGPS) this morning and i dont have it proped right. Thats the fastest i have been and it was good enough for me. Boats are fun.

My old 18' bass boat did 59.8 on the gps my 19 blue water does 49.5 with a belly full of gas on the gps. Fast enough for me.

We built a boat for Earnhart Jr earlier this year, 28' I/O and it was ordered "delete motor" so you can imagine what went in that.

Me and some buddies took a ride on go fast boat on Lake Powel some years back. It had tripple stagered engines. Don't remember the HP but we hit 89. Our life vests actually had droge (sp) chutes that were clipped to th boat. that way if we were ejected, it would kill us a little slower.

The pilot said that he could hit 100 on cooler days but the blowers on the engines were maxed out becasue of the 100 degree day.

Not as fast as some, but my Glastron GT 185 w/4.3 Mercruiser did 53.4 gps with the original 23" aluminum prop. That prop was really only good for speed runs alone though, added the family and speed dropped to 47. Running a 21" Solas Amita 4 blade now that dropped the speed to around 48 with or without the fam...

Got my boat in the sig to 60 mph gps, but I only do that on a very smooth lake surface. It feels like you are doing 100

I hit 39.8 one way on GPS during sea trials of my new prop. I laughed at myself later for how hard I was working at the trim switch to try and squeeze another .2 mph out of it. Talking to the boat ("C'mon baby, you can do it!") didn't make it happen, either.

It makes absolutely no practical difference whether or not my boat can hit 40, but there's human nature for ya

Got this puppy to 56 gps on a quick shot up to 5000rpm with 5 people, big dog, full cooler, 5 water skis, tools, and a full tank of gas, and a two person tube strapped to the top of the engine compartment. Super stable in 1-2 ft chop. That was at 3000' elevation. Going to sea level next week. I am thinkin about 65mph.

108 GPS in a APBA D-Class cat.
In the river. Channel markers looked like a picket fence.
Don't really want to ever do that again!

...A Formula E runabout with a Mercury Mark 58, modified with straight pipes on a Quicksilver racing lower unit, running on a 13-foot Desilva. That would run around 75-80. Acceleration was unbelievable!
...A 2.5L inboard hydroplane that a friend of mine owns. Straight pipes right in front of your face. Took forever to wind out, but would really fly once it got moving.
...A Class D hydroplane, former straight-away record holder at over 80mph. Ran it on a small lake up on Canada. Motor was a Mercury Mark 55H, 40 cui. By small, I mean that at 4 miles wide it got real small in a hurry.

95 mph in a friends 21 foot skater cat. its fun passing 30 foot plus cigarette boats in a 21 foot single outboard boat.

The fastest I have ever gone in a boat was about 80 in a 32 ft Fountain Lightning with twin 454's or 502's not totally sure. This was on the Chain of Lakes in Illinois, man that was fun.

I guess it would be the 60 crestliner falcon that had 3 35 hp nitros fed outboards . I bet we were going at least 175mph........... It had a parachute on the back to slow down.....

I've water skied at 75 and been to 107 in a boat. (don't try it without goggles)

about 35 mph or so in a 13' boston whaler. Plenty fast enough for me in a boat that size. My Valco will top out at 30 knots, the bellboy tops out at about 24 knots.

I guess I am just a wimp compared to all you 75 and up guys, but I spend a lot less on fuel and boat payments, I can guarantee you that!
