Disabling a 1995 40hp evinrude VRO tank

I have a 95 Evin Tiller w/oil injection on a Lund Angler II. The VRO tank needs replacing and I would like to disable it and mix my oil in the onboard tank (15 gal). Is this safe to do? What do I need to do to disable it?
Alarm-Hoses etc..

unplug the sender wire on the tank, the sender wire on the pump, cut the oil line off just before the motor, put a stopper,(bolt and clamp) on the hose, premix your fuel, remove fuel line at carb, pump bulb, till you get fuel with oil in it. the color will change. i'm running several of the 2 cylinder 40 and 50's.

you fuel side of the current pump will work, when it goes, you can use #433387, block mounted. and disable pulse hose on current pump. see pictures here. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=269917
