My manual says use OMC oil filter 173233 does anyone know how to find the delco or other equilavent?

On the fuel filter it says OMC 174144, same question, how can cross this to another brand.

Last the Manual says to use SAE 30 oil, I thought this was odd but was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what they run in lieu of SAE 30

It is a 90 OMC Cobra 5.7

Re: OMC Filters/Oil

Go to any auto parts store - get a filter for your model year. A 350 ci motor has the same specs all around. If you want, here are the Mercury #'s

oil: 866340K06

fuel: 802893T

My 07' requires a 5W - 30. But a 10W - 30 could be used. Hope that helped some.

I was able to get SAE30 Cobra oil up until about a year or two ago, now I go to one of the big brick and mortar places and use their Premium SAE30.

Re: OMC Filters/Oil

Thanks guys, options in SAE 30 seem to be very limited, I saw castrol has a heavy duty SAE 30 and also saw a Valvoline racing SAE 30, neither of which seems quite right for this application. The manual advises against using mutil-viscosity oils. I you know of others that make SAE 30 and where to get it let me know.

I found that ac delco's website can actually cross the OMC oil filter to PF1218F on their website. I have not been able to find anything to cross the fuel filter.

Re: OMC Filters/Oil

I use Sierra Marine oil filters and Chevron Delo 400 straight weight in my old 88 4.3 Cobra. I would not use a multiweight oil in an older inboard engine, they do better with a straight weight.
