1971 Sears Ted Williams - Water pump

Greetings,

I have a 1971 Sears (Eska) 7.5 hp Ted Williams Motor. How can I tell if the water pump is working. I know that it is an air cooled engine, but has the water pump to cool the leg (?). I never owned a outboard and am not familiar!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should see water coming out of the 2 upper holes in the leg. If your running it in a barrel take the propeller off.
