Johnson 15 no spark

I have a Johnson 15, no spark.

I have ohmed out the kill switch. Pulled the flywheel. Checked for obvious problems, but don't know how to test the mag and coils.

I can't find the model/ser # in any obvious place to determine which year, but it doesn't have points under the flywheel.

ok, what color was it painted originally. Can you post a picture?

It seems that the original color was white. I will post a picture.

short of the id tag on the stern bracket, look for the welch plug. It will be about the size of a quarter, and should be located on the top rear of the motor. It should contain the model number.
