The motor in a two stroke outboard 90 archimedes penta - volvo penta 197? serial # 180104390. Some old friends of mine tried to adjust the timing but just really messed it up.
OK speaking generically hopefully you can't actually adjust timing.
only link and sync.In that case there is usually a cam on the stator that opens the carb at the correct point as the stator rotates usually a line or mark to indicate on the cam and the cam follower should just make contact at that line so the carb will begin opening.If timing is actually messed up and lacking
proper info advance to wide open throttle and adjust the advance until it runs best
then retard just a tiny bit not enough to affect operation.Keep an eye on
plugs for indications of detonation evidence.Obviously proper specs is the way to go as adjusting by ear can be inacurate.
