Johnson 8hp 4 stroke controls

Hi all, Ive just bought a johnson 8hp 4 stroke motor...
I Had a Merc 402 thing attached to it when i bought it and needless to say the inevitable! It was dead when i bought it (
Had a few issues so the guy at the repair shop tells me so to be honest its going for spares or repairs.

Basicly my question is,
The controls are in place from the merc motor (steering etc and the power, electric start too)
Is it possible to connect these to the johnson or are they brand/make specific?
The steering doesnt look too much of a problem but the power and electric start etc look rather difficult.
has anyone got any ideas pleaseeee?

oo also has anyone got an idea on the model and year of the motor please?

the steering uses a different link arm for the cable end to the motor. the controls and wiring harness are brand specific.

Ahhh poo.
Thanks for that though at least im not fighting a battle with not knowing.
You didnt have an idea on the year approx etc did you?
Sorry but im really green to this whole thing and had no idea where to turn too.

i'm not familiar with your motor.
