dDoes anyone have experience with the Robalo R220 (center console). In the past (AMF days) they weren't very good boats, any improvements with current owners. This particular one has a Honda 225 4 stroke, any input on it (I know this is a hull forum).

Thanks

Re: Robalo

There's a good handful of them down here, and Idid not know they were not good boats. Had a friend that owned an 80's model and I liked the hardware, hull and electrics on it.
I am not aware of anything that stands out about them, however as has been posted many a time here, it is usually the owner and not the boat that causes most maintenance related problems.
I had owned a bargain boat that I bought new back in the late 80's and kept it up and did great with it ten years later when I sold it.

However, here is a link to some threads regarding Robalo and AMF/Brunswick.

Re: Robalo

Newer Robalo's are consider a top tier boat. They are now owned by Chaparral. They also have an owners forum you might want to visit.

Re: Robalo

AMF used to own Harley-Davidson too and they turned out alright, after AMF sold them of coarse.
