Hi folks, I am new to your forum.
I am starting a restoration project on what I believe to be a 1957 Wizard.
I have been able to find very little information on this make of boat.
I would really like to make contact with others who own or are knowedgable about the Wizard.

Also, other than eBay, what is considered the best source for locating used or NOS parts for vintage boats?
Any such thing as organized swap meets for the boating community?

I am in San Jose CA.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: New member looking for info

Mike,
as I said in my private reply I have a 1960 Wizard Baronet 18 cuddy that I love. The previous post for 'fiberglassics.com' is great and helpfull (old boat brochures) and also 'theclassicboathouse.com' had some pics under vintage advertising. My real score was 'boatingwithdawsons.com' who actually had a brochure with a picture and specs on my boat (download for dollars).
My understanding is that Wizard Boats of Costa Mesa, Ca. was a decent boat and was bought by Winner Boats in Tennessee way back when. If I'm correct Wizard also sold boats through Montgomery Ward but I've found that it gets 'gray' here because Monty Ward also sold a line of boats and outboard motors labeled Wizard that seem to be in a different (sub) class.
I'm new to boating also and these forums are a gold mine of info. I know there was a thread on Wizard/Winner boats in here somewhere and hopefully someone will pop in soon.
Good luck,
Steve
