That's my whole issue,I had the same hull 13 yrs ago with a 380lb 2.0 merc on it . Now with a 480lb suzuki the stern feels like its sucking to the water, even w/bobs manual convertible plate(suzuki has a 25 shaft to where the merc was rigged w/20") .The boat is a kevlar inshore cc,alot of the new manufactures call the transom/keel set-up a pocket drive.I loved the boat with the merc, but it handles like a different boat now.I think the Suzi has enough power(202 dyno and the plate is raising shaft up 5" and only setting it back 2.5") Something is not right. Before when the boat hit 400rpm it would like break loose from water, now I do not get that feeling at all.I'm not sure what prop I had before but now I have a 14.25x22'Thanks for input Michael
I have a coast guard certification that says 200hp(original tag was worn off).Gieco said that it could not be more than 10% of 150hp.Progressive did not say any thing about 200.My last reply I did not mean I wanted less power b/c evinrude does not really state hp for 150ho, plus ho has solid mounts and a hi-performance mid and lower unit. The 2.6 200 is basically a low power(190hp) run of mill e-tech.Also on the Suzuki the power is offset with weight(470+lb) and too long of shaft. If I could find a 20" suzuki shaft, it might be my cheapest alternative. In the last few years of trying to find a 20" suki shaft has only yielded complete running engines for 4000+$ .I dont know what to do after realizing how good it ran with the little merc on it. Running carbed 2.0 merc's are still bringing 3500+$. Thats why I am thinking of a 150ho or 200 e-tech,10000$, warranty, better fuel economy and greener.I have a hard time making expensive decisions and reading the internet one person states the e-techs have this issue and x brand has this issue. Thanks for the help Mike
