Wellcraft American 180

I am going to buy an America 180 tomarrow. The Marina says it is an 85 but I can't find any info on 85's I find 84 & 86. Did Wellcraft make an American 180 in 85. This boat has a 3.0 Mercruiser 140hp. It says American 180 on the side of the boat. I will buy it anyway, It is in great shape. Any help on this would be great.

It's most likely an 84.
I looked at nada and the 84's were I/O's and the 86's are O/B's.
Average retail for the 84 I/O is $1,670.
But take that with a grain of salt.

But after you buy it, go by a gas station on the way home and fill her up.

Then you can tell us.

Seems you're right. Wellcraft website doesnt show an American in 85 in 18' length.

the 1986 American 180 has a 20 gallon gas tank as did my 1987 180 Classic so It may be a good bet that its 20 gallons.

I believe the last 2 digits on the hull id number is the year of mfg. you will be able to tell for sure once you get a look at it.

Enjoy your new boat. I liked my Classic 180 and now I have a V-20.
