i need help w/ naming a missing piece!?

i am missing a piece that connects my throttle to me engine, it is a 1969 merc 100hp w/ mercontrol. when i push the throttle down you can see it move and the piece under it isnt connected. you can manually move the piece underneath to get the engine going faster. when i took it out it went about 7mph full throttle.. any advice would be great.

What you are pointing to is the shift shaft. I doesn't have anything to do with the throttle. Moving that arm will select either forward or reverse.
