they said the would, when i picked up the boat in june, we just got my batteries out of an old shop, wasn't hooked up to anything. 2 months later preparing to go out I checked and all 3 were completely down, the new starting down to 7 volts, the old deep cycles at abou 9V.

charged each battery about 4 hours, all seemed like they took it an held it, checked the volts couple hours later and was still good. I know they should have taken longer to charge but all I had was a fairly fast car battery charger.

went out for the first trip last week and the 2 deep cycle batteries together only cranked the engine over twice before dieing after the boat ran for an hour. I thought it should have held a better charge then that, are they dead?

when I bought the boat, it was outside all winter, batteries in, and they still had over 12 volts in them

charge them again and put a voltmeter across the terminals when you start the engine, they should show increases in voltage as the rpm comes up , or the engine isn't charging.

with all those batteries I woulda thought you'd have something on the dash to indicate charge or discharge.

A good battery does not need to be put on a trickle charger all winter. If they need that to stay up, then it should be in something other than your boat.
