anyone ever heard of "AFP/Aluminum Fabricated Products" or "RDS Aluminum"?

Pulled the tank out of my 84 boat which had a couple pin holes..the holes seemed soft although the tank LOOKS good.

The tag on this tank is says it was made by AFP out of FL and gave a number an address called the number they were out of business.

found RDS Aluminum out of the same town of FL/Perry Fl and they're the same people just under a different name.

called them and gave them the model number to my tank and all it's a 25 gal tank.

they said they have the drawing for it and wanted $436 for it I asked whats the best price they said absoulute best would be $371.......


can anyone help me out is there any boat makers out there that can get it cheaper from them for me? she said boat makers can get them a lot cheaper but for me an individual thats the lowest price.

I need this exact tank it's in tight quarters plus I'd like to put back the exact tank.

To be honest with you, thats a pretty good price for a custom welded aluminum tank. I don't think you're going to do better than that.
I assume this is for fuel not water? I don't think you want to go with a backyard welder on a fuel tank....nor do they. Who's going to certify it? Aluminum is a trickier process so you may just have to bite the bullet on this one.

Not sure where you are located, but it looks like someone pulled a 27 gal AFP tank out of a Glastron CSS18 here and is selling it for $100:

371.00 sounds cheap i just got a quote for 790.00 for my 89 bayliner 21 gallon belly tank. so im going to try some of that sealant you pour in the tank. hope it works. however if you find a company that can make you one cheaper please post back with the info.

I've got a RDS axillary/transfer tank in the bed of my truck. They make a quality product. I've had it for 2 years now.

with shipping even at 371 ofcourse it was over 400 bucks..just hard to swallow on my 1984 boat!
