L, XL, and CXL

Could it be that L is for long shaft meaning 20"

XL for extra long shaft meaning 25"

and, CXL for "something" XL meaning 30" shaft

Is there any reason why a left hand rotating motor wouldn't work as well as a right?

correct, just that left hand rotation motor are more expensive to service, and props are untra expensive.
