Not sure if i'm in correct forum for this question,if not i apologize.Anyway just bought 89 Skeeter bass boat SF 140 17'6"(Waiting for new manual).Took it out for the first time just to run it and when we got back to the launch discovered that the live well was full. Most boats of this type have a plug inside well, but we checked every where we could and found no plug hole anywhere.Boat came with 2 plugs but can't quite figure this out.Am i missing something silly and obvious here...Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks John

Re: Live well question

Does your well have an aerator, long tube full of holes, and if so is it mounted in the bottom or top of tank? It should have a valve on one end, closest to where it enters the well. Do you have the in bilge or the outside transom fill pump? If you have the in bilge pump, the other plug is for the inlet, and has an opening on the rear side of your transom. Another style, no longer typical, has a brass strainer mounted on the outside of the hull and an overfull in the well that drains out thru-hull style.as long as the boat is in the water, this well is full.
Got a picture?

Does it maybe have a power pump out?

That is all I can think of, there has to be a way to get the water out.

Check in the back where your bilge pump and aerator pump is (if you have one). Mine has a small valve comming off the aerator pump that you just open to empty the live well.

Hope this helps :)

Re: Live well question

Think i got it figured out.The well filled up as i mentioned but it drained out no problem when i took the boat out of the water. The problem was i did not know how it got in in the first place.Have since discovered there is a small lever under throttle tight to the seat that does in fact open and close a lever on bilge pump to let water in when you want, but you just have to turn it manually on and off as needed then i can turn on the airators electically.
Thanks for the help i very much appreciate it...John
