Most likely, worn valve guides. Could be worn oil rings as well, but I'd bet it's on the top end. Do you have any fuel in the oil?

As far as replacing the engine, I'd pull the heads and have them checked out by a reputable machine shop before taking the plunge, but Rapido engines are very popular among the members of this forum.

Could be valve guides and/or seals.
A leakdown test will tell you if it's a ring problem or not.

Welcome to iboats Sean.

start by postinting your engines model number....

are you sure its oil and not unburnt fuel?

but in the interm some things to check are....

What plugs are you running? are they the right ones?
Whats the compression look like on all 8 cylinders?
When was the last time the engine had a FULL tune up... and not just plugs?
Is your flame arrestor filthy and clogged? how about the crankcase vent hoses.... is there a lot of oil inside of those? Is the oil level on the mark on the dipstick when the boat is in the water?

hi guys the oil that i thought only got on the 4 cylinders is now on all 8im almost positive its oil its oily on my finger so i imagine its oil and not just unburnt gas. i had one of my friends do a compression check and all the cylinders checked out at 150 - 160 that sounds good right? i will check the oil level its tough because the boat isnt on the trailer straight but yeah i was thinking about having a leak test done the one problem that i did have was i ran aground on a sandbar a few weeks ago and since then it sounded like there was noise comming from where the timing chain would be if the timing chain is off a beat will that cause this problem to happen? the engine doesnt want to idle and theres a lot of vibration at idle.. but sounds fine when its run at higher rpm.. i dont know the model number of the engine but its a volvo penta gm 350 with the bolts in the center on the valve covers. thanks for the input guys im new at the whole boat thing if it does happen to be the valve guides or seals is this hard to replace if so how much am i looking to spend thanks in advance
