I finally decided on a combo Chartplotter/Fishfinder. My boat came with a 727which is a basic GPS/FF but no charts. The 757C will snap on to the existing bracket and uses the same dual beam transducer so that will save me the trouble of rewiring, drilling and remounting. I will post my opinion of it after my next trip. Soon I hope! :D

I've had mine for about a year now and I'm very impressed with it. Great detail with the Navionics card and similar to you, I already had a 717 with an external GPS puck installed, so all I had to do was put the head unit on and go..

Well I finally got to try out the new unit. I was able to just snap it right on the mounting bracket where my 727 was. I did not have to change any wiring ans was able to use the same dual beam transducer :D. I am using the pre-loaded maps and have not bought a Navionics card yet. The maps seem accurate. I like using it with the chart orientation in the direction of the boat as opposed to North-up orientation. As for the FF, it did not show any fish but we didn't catch any either :(. So it was probably ok. The color screen was wasy to see. :):)The depth readings seemed consistant and did not seem to jump around and show wide variances in depths as I have read others complain about. So far I give it a thumbs up! :D

Thanks,
KWB
