bow stop measurement?

I need to replace my bow stop on my trailer, its old and cracked, and I suspect my hull is pulled right up to the bow stop bolt.

Now, they come in all sorts of dimensions... I'm watching one on ebay thats a 3" x 3"... is one of those dimensions the width of the back of the thing, as it fits between the sides of the bracket on the trailer? Whats the other dimension?

Round or spool type bow stop rollers usually are just measured by their width and overall diameter. 'Y' style bow stops normally just give the overall bracket width or bolt hole length of the hole by which they will be secured.
