johsoson 115 slipping

took my boat out to day and something is slipping
got it planed out and put the fuel to it and the motor would wind the rpm's real high , pull back on fuel would catch
please any ideas

sounds like your prop hub is spun.

put a mark on your prop and a mark on your hub takr her for a spin then check the marks if they dont line up its spun

they can be repaired cheaper than a new prop

yep spun prop there is a rubber bushing between the the 2 hubs, it has lost it's grip. can be reconditioned at a prop shop.

wow! thats what i call a used prop tashasdaddy.

is that a big chunk missing or is it just my imagination!?

Mark it like the one below, using the cotter pin for a pointer. It's quicker and you don't have to remove anything.

Easy way ezeke. It could spin right back to the mark, so if the first time is right on the mark, try again and double check.

It can do that no matter where you make the mark, parrilladk, but TD's way is the back of the prop, so you would have to completely remove it twice to check it that way.

i'm stealing you picture Exeke. it is easier. mine shows the hubs. yes, that is a chunk of of a stainless prop.. but better than none as a spare.

how did you chunk a stainless, and whats the old lower unit look like?
ive never seen a stainless with a hunk gone.

i hear ya about the spare i dont even have an extra.
