This is my 'new' boat's throttle control... It seems to have 3 tilt/trim positions

The rocker works to trim down but its the trim up and tilt that seem to confuse me.

There is a 'click' on the control when tilt/trimming up... My guess is that is the tilt... The control doesn't seem to have a trim up... (or it doesn't work) Whats up with this thing?

Push the top of the trim button ONE CLICK, to trim up. If it's adjusted properly, it will stop at the trim limit setting. Then you push a little harder for the second click, which is for TILT, which raises the drive all the way up

Sounds like the trim limit switch is faulty (VERY common problem). I have seen many a boat with a short link of wire to 'jump out' the limit switch... Not recommended;), but a lot cheaper than replacing the limit switch and its associated wiring...

The second click on the up click and the down click are all I get. The trim appears to be what isn't working.

Thanks

Down only has one click, up has the first click, then you push harder for the second click.

Yeah - Down works fine; With up, it only works on the second click (Tilt), up trim doesn't seem to work at all.

It could be the trim limit switch is just out of adjustment. Was the bellows or shift cable changed recently?

EDIT: just noticed it's a 2007. It may have never been adjusted properly from the factory.

CHECK ;)

Is there any info on the switch replacement? Is that something that would ordinarily be covered under the warranty?

What year is the engine, not the boat.... If the engine package is still under warranty, it could be that the installer just forgot to connect the wires from the limit switch to the engine harness. VERY unusual for the switch or its wires to fail in the first few years...

Engine is dated Oct/2006. It does seem odd; being so new. I'll contact the local Ebbtide dealer tomorrow and see what they say. I'd really hate to have to replace it myself.

[edit] Just saw your post, Don. I'll check before I call.
