sitting in the hot tub tonight i was wondering if a light from a hot tub would work as an underwater light for a boat.. obviously it would need some modifications . but would it work or too much pressure from the water??

Re: Would this work?

How far underwater are you intending to take the light?... Pressure increases at about 1 atmosphere (14.7psi) per 33 feet of water...

Good point. Anyway, a hot tub light is probably not low voltage, just sealed. There are 12 volts light you can get that are design for what you want. What were you planning?

I like those!!!

As long as you mounted them so nothing protruded below the bottom of the hull, they shouldn't cause any problems....

Just be aware that a 50W lamp is going to pull some serious current.. about 4 1/2 amps... Don't leave it on overnight!!!

You'll be the coolest boat on the lake.

Google underwater marine lights and you'll get 1/4 million hits.
Better than leaving a hole in your hot tub.:)

google is where i found these lol. google shopping that is.. i dont want to spend a lot thats why i came to these.. i trailer the boat. so when im out at night i would see that its on . . so you guys think that would work on the back. but as long as its not protruding on the bottom. it will be right next to the trim for my ob
