I'm not sure which model it is because it is a friends boat and I don't have access to it right now but it is electric start. Can anyone help with the ratio? thanks

24:1 for all 1960 Evinrudes. That's 1 quart in 6 gallons of gas. Don't be tempted to use less.

Re: Oil mix ratio help on a 1960 Evenrude

Thank you both. Myself and a friend of mine just bought a 1960 Performer Sportsman to use as a hoop netting fishing boat for lobster in the San Diego area and we completely re-wired everything to see if it would fire up after sitter for 20 yrs. Sure enough when we wired a new ignition it started to crank with great compression. The last step is the oil/fuel ratio....now we're good to go....cross the fingers and hope it fires up!!!

Be sure you use a properly wired outboard key switch.

The engine is up and running and we are taking it out for the first voyage tomorrow morning out in the harbor. We installed a new ignition for the electric start but I don't know that it is specifically and "outboard key switch". Is there a major difference? It seems to work ok...
