I have a 1998 sea pro citation with a 4.3 mercrusier. The problem I am having is there is no fuel coming out of the tank when I try to start it up. last time this happened I clean the wire connections going to the fuel tank and it worked. Tried to start it up weeks later and no fuel. tried cleaning the connections still no luck.

I am new to boating can anyone help
thanks bruce

If those connections go to the round thing screwed to the top of the tank, that is the sending unit for the fuel gauge. Has absolutely noting to do with fuel getting to the engine. Unless the tank is empty.

How do you know there is not fuel coming out of the tank?

Re: no fuel

I disconnected the fuel line coming from the tank to the fuel filter, this is after I check the line giong to the carburator.

when I try to start it I turn it on, push in the center button and put it in neutral with a little gas

If a boat sets for a while then you might have to crank it a bit and pump the handle. If still no fuel then get a squeezie ball and try to pump it up that way.Still nothing then pull the fuel pick-up and see if it's clogged. Then go to the fuel pump.Jerry

Re: no fuel

Anti-siphon valve stuck. Fuel pump filter clogged. Vent clogged. Try running it on a external tank. Filter clogged in the fitting bye the carb.

Water separator clogged.

He have a electric fuel pump?
