Re: spark plugs

You should use the recommended plugs which are Champion Surface Gap UL77V or QUL77V. The Q plugs give additional electronic noise suppression.

Edit:
You can find the original spark plugs and any superseding plug changes at the BRP on line store by selecting the ?Cylinder and Crankcase? diagram and clicking on the diagram number next to the spark plug.

Once the line item is shown with the part number, you can check for superseding plugs by clicking the magnifying glass icon on that line.

The 2004 list included the L16V, but that is no longer listed in the current literature.

Any of those will work well. Personaly I like the QL77JC4 because they are the least expensive and run pretty cool. I've never shortened the gap from what they come with (on recreational motors) and have had them last for a very long time. I usually end up changing them "just because" rather than because they wear out.

Re: spark plugs

Dhadley is making a personal recommendation and he has the most experience with the engines in your range.

The plugs with numbers containing V are surface gap and require no gap setting ever.

The .030 gap is applicable to the QL77JC4 plugs and is not universally accepted but is recommended by BRP in most applications where it is the recommended plug.
