We brought home about 60 lbs of fillets.

Nope ... Capt Jeff didn't want a 6 - 7 foot shark in a 28 foot center consule. I tried to talk him into it, but he wasn't hearing any of it! Just brought it to the side of the boat to prove we could bring him in and then did a quick release.

Well, made it safely to Colorado and the first day of the hunt I killed a big cow, so the pressure is off for meat ... now we are gonna look for that 6x6! If we get him, elk steak cookout at the aspeck house!

It's 2 out in the bottom of the ninth and no runners are on base! Missed a nice bull (probably a 5x5) on Sunday. Trailed him on a good trail for about 300 yards before the trail gave out. Don't know how that bad boy could keep moving with apparently only one lung.
Monday had a monster sneak up behind me while I was glassing the field. We startled each other being that ours eyes met at 40 yards or less. He was probably my 6x6, but he hid behind the scrub oak and never let me see more than his tail and the tips of his antlers. Never got a clean shot, and was not about to wound another one.

So, heading out in about an hour for my last shot ... will see. We have done well as a group for meat, filling 4 of 5 tags so far ... just need that wall hanger yet ...

That stinks. Hopefully you'll get another shot at a monster.

I do have a little advice for ya though, you would probably execute more accurate shots if you layed off the "aiming fluid".​

Well, I am home now and really trying to catch up on everything ... it has been a rough 2 months and I am paying for the FL & CO trips, but they were worth it!

As for the 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th ... I didn't hit the home run with a nice bull, but it was 6:30 pm and I was about to pack it in. We were on the last light and I took one last look up the fence line where I was sitting and nothing. I turned to look down the fence line, and there was an elk! 75 yards away! It took some fancy work, but in the end I was filling out my last tag and we were 5 for 5 on the tag department. We brought between 800 - 1000 pounds of elk meat (deboned and packaged, ready for the freezer) home with us. YUM!

Now all we need is KB to do his magic and we could have a GREAT cookout!
