while fixing fuel pump on 888 alpha1 302 ford mercruiser
found milky oil in the place you put the fuel pump into the motor,, ok put it together and started engine .. had a ruff night and realized I did not put the ear muffs on.. will this be an automatic broken impellar,, (put muffs on) after turning it on did not seem to heat up too much did get up to 140 until I encreased the trottle some>> do you think it will be ok

How long did it run? Had you run it on muffs before the repairs?Or did it set a while dry?
If it only ran a few seconds it might be ok.If you had started it before the repair it still had a little water in it to keep the impeller wet.
Put the muffs on and start it and see if it over heats then take it to the lake for a test.
But the main thing is if your worried at all. REPLAECE it!!!!!!!!.Jerry

it ran for about a minute,, I had started it about an hour before with water on..

Out of curiosity, how long has it been since the impeller has been replaced?
