1986 75HP merc Tilt Trim creeps down slowly ??

My tilt & Trim ( type B unit) works great as far as moving up and down,,just when I set it up it slooooowly creeps down,,,I full trimmed it up tonight and locked it up and when I came back a couple hours later I removed the fill cap and I needed to add fluid,,I did that twice so far tonight,,I filled about 2 inches the first and second time,,,,there are no fluid leaks at all dry as a bone around the unit,,If I trim it up and try to stand on it to move it down I can not move it,,,,but left over a short time it slooooooowly creeps down,,,any and all info would be appreciated,,thanks,,,Mike

Did you bleed the all of the air out?

I am bleeding it out by running it like the manual states but if I leave it trimmed up all the way for awhile I get about 2 inches to fill in the res tube,,,so I am letting it sit till tomorrow morning and I will fill it again,,,I assume I am bleeding the air out by doing that,,,,Mike

Myke, Keep filling and cycling it. Leave it sit in the full tilt position after each session. if it is loosing fulid, you need to find the leak. If not, it still has air trapped it it.

That is what i am doing now I just full tilted it up and am waiting,,I will check it tomorrow Morning,,,Thanks,,,,Mike
