Re: 1967 14' Starcraft ?

It sure looks like an Arrow 14' to me. Fiberglass hull, short shaft and rated for 45 horsepower. I have a picture of one from the '68 brochure and one also appears in the '69 Evinrude brochure with a new 25 horse on the transom.

That boat was available in a long shaft version with sleeper seats and a deck in Captain's Blue (medium light blue). In that case it would be called the Mustang 14'.

Take a look at the following attachments. The first shot shows both boats powered by 1967 OMC hydro-electric shift 40s (Johnson 40 Electramatic & Evinrude Lark 40). The second shot gives specs and a top view. The 3rd is from the 1969 Evinrude brochure and shows the then-new 25. (Your welcome :) )

Not tryin to hijack this thread but, TN. Any chance you would have a 66 brochure? I have a 66 Sunchief and the closests manual I've been able to get my hands on is a 65. Sure would like to get my habds on even a scanned copy of the Sunchief page from a 66 brochure!

Hmmm, I have been collecting for decades but the oldest I have is a '68 Starcraft brochure. Dad looked at Starcrafts for many years and finally bought one in 1974 (and another in 1993).

Generally in those brochures they rig them with the outgoing model year's outboards. Sometimes a carryover model will have a picture from a previous year. There is one, a Polaris 16', that is equipped with a 1965 vintage Merc inline six. Maybe that one is a '66.

So North Beach, tell me some details about your boat. You are closer than me since you have a 1965 brochure.... Thread stealer :p (just razzin ya);)

I may try to buy an old cartop boat that I believe is a Nalco (a locally made aluminum boat company from 1960-1993). When the parents moved we cleared out a bunch of stuff. I found what I believe is a 1964 Nalco folder. Dad bought a Nalco in 1964 and it was a very good boat.

Re: 1967 14' Starcraft ?

TN, Like I said before. It's a 66 Sunchief, 21', 110 HP I/O in pretty much original condition. My fatherinlaw bought it in 72, had the engine re-built to about 120hp by a professional mechanic and did a ton of work to the outdrive. My brother bought it from him back in the 80's and just pretty much lake fished it and never did anything to it cosmetically. I was a tad short cash wise when it was for sale in the 80's so I steered my brother towards it. Anyhow, I finally got my hands on it and we just moved it into the garage for a winter tweeking. The plan is to fix the currently not working tilt (motor runs but nothing moves, Re-do the floor and flotation and new top and bottom paint.

It rolls on a 72 cox trailer and we're planning to completely re-do it while I have the boat off maybe some bigger wheels and new axles/wiring.

The thing I like about it is everything is there and in good working condition. Some paint and replacement of the broken Starcraft emblems on the side and this will be just like new. The hull is tight and the motor runs great.

My serial number is 65 W 476, I'm assuming she's a 1965. Manufactures tag says, "14 ft Mustang"....
