I just bought a honda 15hp motor about mid 90's and I don't see an oil filter even though they have sold me one. On the new one's I saw that it was on the lower right side. Any one know where it is, or if there is one?
Thank you!

There is no oil filter on them, at least no until they did the upgrade early last year. I have a 1997 15 hp , no fiter there.

Thank you. Next question is how do you change it?

About 1/2 down the starboard side there is a screw there and I think it has a stamping that says "oil". The engine holds 1 quart. I use a plastic 2 liter bottle w/top cut off and hold it tight against the side and let it drain. You will undoubtly have some drips or runs so have a rag or paper towels handy.
Drains better if you have the engine warmed up first by running on muffs w/a hose.

You can not change the oil filter on a 15a without removeing the powerhead, and it is not something ordinarily serviced.
