oil filter

Good Evening.

I have a '89 Thompson Merc. 5.0L Alpha I. I went to the store to get an oil filter. However, the one on then engine currently is the 35-866340Q02 and the store only had the 35-866340Q03. Is there a difference? Did the numbers change?

Ray, I used to use the automotive filter for that motor and year. I would therefore look up an '89 Chevy pickup or full size car and use the specified filter.

store you went to should have been able to tell you if the part number was superseded? what brand part was it? if merc call a different merc dealer and ask.

hi there go to any napa autoparts and get a NAPA gold 1069 or 1060 should work without problems

35-866340Q03 supercedes 35-866340Q02.
