Examples of SeeDoo engines used in old glass boats?

My fiberglass anti-crime cruiser is 14 foot long and I've read about folks using SeeDoo jet engines in their classic glass boats.

What would be the pros and cons of making mine with a jet engine??

Two holes are made in the hull. Would I have to do anything extra structurally to the hull?

My craft's waterline is about 3 inches up the hull. Would the jet still work?

Those things have a lot of HP for their size. Even jet skis. Just wondering. :)

SeaDoo makes boats, so I don't see why it wouldn't work in your boat. I've seen/heard a few, they sound healthy and haul...

I've also seen a few parked by the lake road with "THIS BOAT SINKS" written in big letters on the hull... don't know what that was all about though

1. i dont know

2. if you want to make the boat origonal ...(for possible resale value..and to be true to the origional design....make it the way it was....)

3.there is no way a 35 hp would power my bat boat.!...it needs a real screemin motor....like a huey helecopter motor or sumthin ! :D

allmost nuclear powered.....with flames shooting out the back ! :D

Pair of seadoo jets wait a blig block and a berkley. You tube has a few, look it up but I would have to know someone with one before I did it,And at least talk to them .And the bat boat with a jet would be cool.

Darren,

i am with oops on this:D, for a crime fighter you need nothing less than
a jet engine so the flames can shoot 30 feet out the back..

but if your doing a restore for a rare classic boat.. stick with what came from the factory.

I saw pictures of a boat with jet ski power conversion. I think they cut out a section of the jet ski hull and glassed it in to a similar size hole cut in the boat. Would seem to be the easiest way to do it. Kind of neat idea. It won't be fuel efficient as an outboard, but it sure will run in shallow water!!!
