fuel issues

i have a 1993 envinrude 90 hp. the engine has run fine for the past three years till about two trips ago. the boat will get up on a plane when u give it throttle but then after about a minute it dies down to an idle. when i check the fuel bulb its empty. if you pump it and fill it, it will get on a plane till the fuel runs out of the bulb. i have changed the fuel lines from the bulb to the motor and all inside the cowling to the fuel pump in fear of an air leak on a dry rotted hose. changed water seperator and fuel filter inside of engine cowling. i have also changed the spark plugs. i am just curious if any one has had this problem before and has some suggestions before i start pulling carberators or change the fuel line from the tank to the bulb..

Re: fuel issues

Check your fuel lines first and make sure all the connections are good, and the hoses aren't cracked. If that doesn't fix it, check the antisiphon valve on the fuel tank. Then, you'll probably want to have a good look at the fuel pump.

Yeah, I was wondering why he never mentioned the fuel pump, the most suspect of all.

Re: fuel issues

My 2 cents is a venting problem, bad connections or my favorite at this point is the fuel pump.
