Electrical Short from the Alternator

I shorted the Alternator wire by accident while cleaning. I am not sure if there is a fuse that is preventing me from starting the engine, or even getting the initial beep before starting.

Any thoughts?

I think it's a spaceship from mars. Quick call the energizer bunny.

99 Mercruiser IO Bravo III

I have seen that happen on a truck engine but it only burns a fuse out. I am not sure where the fuses are located. All of the diagrams that I see on-line, don't show where the fuses are on teh engine block.

The fuse is on the start solenoid on top of the starter, and it looks like this.

What engine do you have attached to that 99 Bravo III outdrive?

7.4 liter 310PHP

The starter looks like it is tucked below the riser, and next to the exhaust manifold on the left side of the engine. About right or is it somewhere on top? The books are hard to tell.

Thanks for the help
