Conversion of short shaft to long shaft

Dummy me bought a 15 HP Chrysler SeaKing Short Shaft Outboard Motor for my son-in-law whose boat requires a long shaft. Does anyone know if there is a short to long shaft conversion kit for this motor. I THINK it is a late 80's model.

yes,there is a long shaft conversion kit.But you will have to search and wait for one to pop up on ebay.I bought one a year ago off ebay.

sure, my motor is a 1986 force 15 hp. The conversion kit old part number would have been k1019-1 (for 20 in). This would fit chrysler,force,and mercury force 15 hp short shaft outboards.

Doubledirtydan, I checked on mercruiserparts and they show an extension kit Part #FA492845T still available for $271.24.Another source you might try is the chryslercrew on thursday nights live chat and ask if any one has a used one.

I know this is an old thread but hoping someone can still answer - Im interseted in a kit to convert a Yamaha 115f 2004 from a 20.3? shaft to a 25.3?.
