Wanting to paint deck with durabak on 17ft glasstream

What is the best way to prepare the deck it has a layer of paint on top. I need to sand it all off but what if the is a gel coat underneath when do i know it is enough. Plus do i need to prime it before using durabak? thank you for any help.

First read the directions, they should answer most of your questions.

Yes you need to remove the layer of paint, stop when you get to the gel coat.

Would you post some picture's of the finished product, I would like to see how it looks. Been thinking of doing something simuliar for the deck in my boat someday maybe

Do search on the product, there was boat done a couple years ago with it, he had to do it twice because of some problems. There are a bunch of pics and good info in the thread.
