if you can't kill bambi with the 3-5 shot, shot gun. go home and then to the range, and practice. it has it's purpose, and for that is great.

Ayuh,....

I can see where it would be a Much Better weapon for Urban warfare,.... Better than M-16s...
And,...
I'd Love to be able to spend an afternoon at the range with 1,...
But,.. Owning 1 or Worse yet, Feeding 1 is out of the question,.....
It would really cut into my Boating Funds....
man i wnet and bought a couple boxes of slugs today , man 17.62 a box , rem, copper sabots !!!
A 20 round drum in How many seconds,..??..??

Nope,...
I've got an old 1940s-something Remington model 11, with a twist a choke on it,...
It'll Unload 5 pretty darn Quickly as it is...
And if I can't drop what I'm shooting at with 5,....??.... Guess I shouldn't be pullin' the trigger....

Doesn't look like was meant for hunting...doubtful I'll ever see one of these out in the field.

Use a smokepole. When you only have one shot, you learn to make it count.

Looks like a great close quarters combat weapon. It also looks like a weapon that should never be allowed to be distributed to anyone other then the military. The drug dealers are killing enough innocent bystanders as it is - we don't need them getting their hands on a bunch of these.

...like the hand grenades and full auto weapons that only the military can get?
I don't think the drug dealers are walking into BassPro shops for their armory.

That's true, they aren't. The average street level drug dealer is getting his/her guns from people who robbed people, who bought them from the local Bass Pro, Walleyworld, Academy Sports, etc.

As for the heavy duty stuff that has been confiscated recently, yup that's a problem. Its also a much smaller problem than it would be if you could buy sniper rifles, hand grenades, etc. from the sporting goods stores.

Re: AA-12 - I want one!

Agreed.
I have had two incidents when I was relieved of my of my hanguns.
One was recovered from within a female crackheads purse.
It was a 44 magnum which I use for hunting.
I had another disappear which has also been recovered (but not returned yet).
This is so unusual (caliber-wise) that whenever a 44 magnum is stolen in the County, the Police call me to ask if I'm missing any!:)
I have since moved out of that neighborhood.
The majority of guns on the street are smaller caliber cheaper guns according to local law enforcement.
In the first incident, I had a couple dozen small revolvers displayed dating back to 1865. Calibers were .22 and .32. They were meant to fire black powder cartridge ammo. I told the cops to check the local hospitals for hand wounds as these would blow up upon discharging modern ammo in them.

You can walk into to a gun shop and purchase a sniper rifle. This is going to be a specialty item that the chain stores don't handle (much like the beast in this thread). They might have all the pieces to turn a hunting rifle into one though. Only a collector or avid shooter would be interested in something like this. Law enforcement also told me that in all cases with the odd exception, all shooting takes place at very close quarters which would render a sniper rifle next to useless.

Re: AA-12 - I want one!

I know what you mean about the old guns. My great-grandfather was a woodsman and guide in Maine - he had a pair of custom made pistols that shot 12 gauge shotgun shells. He wore them on his hips like some sort of 19th century gunslinger, except that his "opponents" were ticked off Grizzly Bears that someone in one of his parties had shot but not killed. The single shot pistols were for last chance defense if one of the bears charged my GGF, or someone else.

What I remember about them the most, is that they had demascus barrels, and could only be safely shot with black powder shells. I never shot either one of them - they did have under-barrel grips, but I just couldn't imagine trying to hold onto one while firing it!

Re: AA-12 - I want one!

Man, Jay, those would have been sweet pistols. With the black powder they would have been loaded a little lighter than today's modern cartridges and would not have kicked AS much, but it still would take a real man to hold on to one of them! What ever happened to them? Are they still in the family?

I have my GGF's double barrel 12 gauage with the damascus barrels and hammer pins. One of these days I am going to load some light black powder ammo and actually use it!
