Charge for Carb Cleaning

I took my 20hp !973 Outboard to a mechanic and the charge for carb cleaning was $120. Is this about the right charge??? What is the labor charge per hour these days???

I bought a BRP carb kit for $29. I've never seen the inside of a carb, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Kit is probably about $30, and then your labor costs, which are around $85-$90 per hour.

They are probably considering 1 hour labor and the kit.

thats why I came to this site when I did and bought a manual. Just since joining this board, I bet I have saved $1,000 in labor costs.
