Swaping a 91 Merc 5.0 for a pre 1987 Merc 5.7

Ok everybody body I know I've kind of asked the question before but I didnt ask if the motor will work I just asked about the manifolds and I want a straight forward answer and what would needs to be swapped to the 5.7 , the casting numbers on the 5.7 are 3970010 and theres something like a vin too which is 11B247740K0428060. I currently have a 91 5.0 Merc with a alpha gen 1 drive the heads are center bolt and it has thunderbolt ignition/power steering.

Ayuh,...

This was ALL covered in your Other thread....

You're going to run into Issues with the Starter, Flywheel,+ Coupler fitments....
There was a change in the Crankshaft Bolt pattern between them...

It's All doable,... And it's All been covered in your Other thread....

Ok will the coupler thats on the 5.7 work with the alpha drive?

Just How Pre-87 is this motor,..??
Was it hooked to an Alpha, or Pre-Alpha,..??

This is Just the reason you should be using the thread You Already Have......

I have no idea what this motor was hooked up to...i would assume its a pre alpha, on the flame arrestor it says mercruiser 85785

The coupler you have will fit the drive you have cause it's off the old motor correct?

All you really need to know if the Flywheel will fit the new old pre 85 motor correct? And the coupler will it fit the flywheel?

Try putting it on the motor, the question is really is there a bell housing on the motor and will the coupler fit in the bell housing?

And that you can try on the floor also.

Put it all together on the floor.

See if it all fits?

Whats so hard here?

Maybe you should go find your Other thread,+ link it to this 1,...
Or,...
Just bring it to the top,+ let this 1 DIE....

That way We won't have to ask you the Same questions to get ALL the required Info for these Other Questions,...
