It's a liability plate, not a capacity plate. Any monohull boats over 20 feet in length are not required to have that posted on board. HOWEVER, if your current vessel has twins and you want to upgrade there are a lot more issues to consider besides the H.P. rating. I would strongly suggest contacting the manufacturer with any future upgrades considering an increase in H.P.
