I have searched the archives and have been unable to find a definitive answer to where you attach the pressure gauge tubing to this motor.
It is a long shaft,2004 Johnson 2 stroke, 30HP motor.
Where does Johnson recommend the tube be hooked to the motor?
I have seen recommendations to "T" into the telltail line, others have said this was not the best place to get an accurate reading and suggest it be tapped in the water jacket.
Is there a water plug on this motor that a fitting can be screwed into for the tube? If so where is it located?
Thanks in advance for any advise or suggestions.

I think that probably just about sums it up! Easy to T into the telltale line not so easy to tap into the water jacket.

Important thing is to know the pressure you get when the pump is in good order, the cooling system and the telltale are free of any obstructions and the thermostat and pressure control are working correctly and how the pressure varies with speed and when the thermostat opens. Then know how to interpret any variation from those baseline figures be it an increase or a decrease. Also be aware that a problem that might cause a fall in pressure can be masked by another that causes an increase.
