I just bought a 15 HP Johnson Sea Horse outboard to use as a kicker. Can anybody let me know what year it is? I have checked all of the usual websites but none list this model number. Also there is a wiring harness coming out the front of the engine that has been snipped. What was it's function and where can I buy a replacement? Thanks.

That should be a 1998 Electric Start, Long Shaft motor.

To see the diagrams for the motor's components, follow this link, click the parts diagram at the upper right, and navigate to your motor: http://shop.evinrude.com/

Does your motor have a tiller? I'm guessing it was at one time hooked to a set of controls and that's what all the wires are for. Electric starter, primer, charging circuit, etc. I'll be watching this thread as I have a 90 - 9.9 that has the wires snipped as well. I have the controls for it and the wire from the controls looks like a 6 pin trailer connector. Mine has no tiller arm and it doesn't look like it ever did. Rick.
