I have 2 motors here a 1500 Merc Thunderbolt which runs great but has a badly chipped 3 blade 19" pitch prop, I also have a 650 Merc with a 3 blade 15" prop which is in good condition, what difference would this prop make.

P.S.
I am only using the boat as fishing boat in the ocean 18ft hartley cabin cruiser

You need to be careful. The engine will rev higher with the flatter prop.
Hopefully you have a tach (?) so you don't over rev.
My advise is, if the 19P worked for you, stick with a 19P.

You may be able to have the 19 repaired.
What year are these motors?
Do you know that these props are the same but for pitch.
The 15 will raise the rpm about 800.It will work but you will have to watch the rpm.Stay within recomended range.5,300-5,800.

the 1500 is a 1975 and the 650 is 1963, I know they are both 15 spline but thats all.

Ayuh,...

With the tiny bit of info you've provided,...
If you put the 15" prop on the 150,...
Your boat will be Slower than death,+ you'll stand a Great chance of Blowing Up the 150...
