I know the winter is just starting here in NEPA but I am missing my boat bad, so I just towed it from my lake house to my garage and have been cleaning it since. The wife is mad I took her bay in the garage but she will get over it, Well I guess she will be ready for spring time, I hope we have some warm weather early this year, I am not above putting on the wet suit and going skiing in March, I once went water skiing and snow skiing in the same day. Well, here is to a short winter time here in the Northeast!!!!

There's always the anticipation of the next New York Giant game to warm the soul until the season blossoms into spring.

Re: Wintertime Blues

I wanna go fishing so bad I can't stand it, not only that I want to try out my new rod holders I installed on my bass boat and see how the new steering acts. We was supposed to go out fishing the past Monday but the weather changed. It's either a nice sunny day with a bit of a chill also windy or a rainy day, or an overcast day with low temps :(.

Been tempted to say the heck with taking the boat out for now and take the prop off my outboard and see if I can't sell it so I can use the money for a different pitched prop. To bad I don't have my aluminum boat finished and registered where I could use it instead and go ahead with my prop swapping plans for my bass boat. But the crappie fishing would be killer right now I bet, might be good bass or stripe fishing as well.

Not to mention the Trout fishing... I'm not sure where you are located at but, here in Southern MO with all the spring fed streams trout fishing is wonderful during the colder months. :)

Sounds fun, but that wouln't work around here as I would be skating on an iceburg.

Yup, Ice is around 24" thick by new years around here.... :p

Im already deep in the cabin fever as well. there is a time between too cold for the boat but not enough ice on the lakes to Ice fish that bothers me.

Oh well, I spend all winter organizing and reorganizing my fishing tackle. reels get taken apart and cleaned, hooks get sharpened or replaced. I also frequent sporting goods stores for deep discounts on summer fishing gear.

Another thing I do is go over my fishing Log and research some lakes I have fished or want to fish. mark down the "honey holes" and mark down spots with potential for next season.

I think im going to try Rod making or Lure making this winter as well.
