hey guys just picked up my dads old aluminum boat that has been sitting for about 13 years. every peice of wood on it is rotted out and needs replacing, im doing the seats first and then somehow doing the peice on the transom.
the transom has a 1" thick peice of wood that i can push my finger in about half way thru. but i dont see any easy way to get that peice out... i would either have to drill out the rivets on the part that goes around the top of the entire boat (dont know correct terminology for this) or cut the transom brace in half, then reweld once the new wood has been installed. am i missing something here????
ive looked around but cant find someone that did this specific kind of resto
