Vermont Bobby......................er.......................a.................Bob VT ;);):) posted this in another thread:

It's 53 here in VT right now! Pouring rain..... :( Gas is holding steady at $1.89 for the cheap stuff and on the sale days it goes down to $1.79. :(

Well regular here is down to $1.49 (several stations). Just wondered how the rest of the country, and other countries are fairing price wise??

1.51 here. And in 10 days im' driving to Florida.

Please lord hear my prayer, let the evil doers the oil company's, keep the prices down for another month.

I could use the money, cause when you leave Disney they turn you upside down and shake every dime you might still have in your pockets out.

1.69 here yesterday. 30 miles up the road its 1.55..Funny how the price increases the closer to a major city you get.
I wish my boat was not all wrapped up for the winter.I needed about 50 gallons to top it off.
Was going to fill it before storage but gas was 4.19 then.

Wow,1.51 in Jersey! Thats darn good being they pump it for you too..;)

Well it has even been reported in the news that VT has higher gas prices than the rest of the country. Heating oil is lagging WAY behind too. It is suspected that people are trying to hold onto money and make money. It may not sound honest but whatever the economy will tolerate id the rule.... :(

Yea they pump it for you also. Yesterday i Topped off the boat tank with 10 gallons, waited till it got around to 1.50.

If i were you and the boat was on a trailer i would drag it over to the pump and fill it up.

I guess I have the record so far - $1.37 as of yesterday afternoon. My fillups have been running at about $40.00 or less lately, as opposed to the $100.00+ fillups that I was seeing over the summer.

This will probably get me banned for life, but . . . How are those of you that said that gas was not a fairly traded commoditiy, that the price would never go back down, that evil oil companies had a monopoly, and that they need to be regulated, rationalising those comments now?

I am not picking a fight, but I always wonder about the subsequent thought process. They were evil, now they're not? They were screwing me, now they just feel bad so they stopped? I was wrong? Nahhhhhhh . . .

If something I need was expensive and is now cheap, I'm happy. I'm funny that way.... As for the reason why, if I can't affect it on my own, I don't pay much attention.

For the life of me I still haven't received a good explanation on how oil prices are set or governed. Anybody have a copy of "Oil Pricing for Dummies"?:p

It is easy. A bunch of guys realize that we American's can't stop driving our cars otherwise we can't go to work, to the store, on vacation or boating. There isn't regulation and these people don't like silly Americans. So they scare the commodities market into thinking there is a shortage because of war, over demand, or hurricane. Brokers make money on rising speculation so they like the scare. The commodity goes through the roof. The bunch of guys, the petroleum industry and the commodity brokers all make a killing. They do this until the consumer goes broke, American talk about alternative energy and our free market system collapses.
